MY PORTFOLIO

This is Angela’s portfolio for university application, hand-drawn with great effort; please do not steal the images.

I drew this in grade 8, after I cut my long hair. The pandemic was serious then, and everyone was wearing masks. It was also around the time I got my braces.

In this self portrait, I reflected on different versions of me at different stages traveling through time. When I was a child, my favorite part at amusement parks was riding the carousel, so I imagined each version of myself staying there and spinning in time. As the years pass, those past selves become black and white because those versions of me and moments have already slipped away like sand. However, all versions and stages of me contributed and created who I am now, and they will also become the foundation of the future me. Therefore, by looking back at the person I used to be, I’m trying to understand the person I am becoming, and ultimately envision the future version of myself that I hope to meet.
